Here's a little known fact about Doug "Moondog" Jones; he has always built his own spearguns. When I asked Doug to be a Sea Sniper sponsored team member, he agreed under one condition - to participate in the construction of the guns. Having seen his level of craftsmanship, I agreed and the project was underway.

Doug "Moondog" Jones with a 268lb yellowfin tuna he shot perfectly through the shoulder with the Hotrod. This is 1 of 2 cows he shot in a single day. He stoned the other one.

A few of the custom modifications included a longer distance from butt to handle and the use of 9/16" "Mean Green" bands. We increased the overall length of the gun by 1" and Doug added 2 external 3/4" polished Titanium tubes for additional water ballasting. The look of the twin tubes inspired the name "Hot Rod".
